The House
Borgo degli Olivi (The "Hamlet of the Olives"), is one of two lovingly restored 19th century Umbrian farmhouses situated on six acres of olive groves with a magnificent pool.
Recently renovated to the highest standards, the apartment boasts a wide range of modern conveniences while retaining its original character and features such as wooden beamed ceilings, stone walls and terracotta floors.
Apartment
The apartment comprises a living room with fireplace and two sets of French doors - one opening on to a large patio and the other on to garden overlooking pool. There is a very large kitchen cum dining room with dining table which can seat up to 12 people comfortably. The kitchen leads on to a large patio overlooking private gardens and a beautiful valley. The patio table also seats 12 comfortably.
There are two bedrooms downstairs (one double room with an ensuite and one large family room with a king-sized bed and two single beds) and one separate bathroom with bath and shower. All furnishings throughout the house are of the highest standard. All appliances (dishwasher, washing machine etc.) are provided.
Swimming Pool
The 18m swimming pool is shared with the apartments of the second farmhouse and enjoys stunning valley views. Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided. The pool is professionally maintained to the highest standards.
Gardens
The farmhouse is situated in six acres of olive groves and stunning gardens. The apartment has a magnificent private garden with olive trees, and many beautiful shrubs, oleander, rosemary and lavender bushes.
The garden includes a comfortable outdoor dining area as well as secluded spots to read and relax.
The Area
Florence, Rome, Siena, Pisa, Perugia, Cortona, Assisi, Montepulciano, Pienza and many other attractions of Etruscan, Roman and Renaissance times are easily accessible. There are also a number of wonderful hilltop towns in the immediate vicinity including those of Panicale, Citta della Pieve, Castiglione del Lago and Paciano.
Golf, rafting, boating, mountain biking (there is a designated cycle path around the lake), live theatre, musical recitals, opera, a water park, horse back riding, a health & beauty spa, museums, hunting, sailing, boat tours, local festivals, restaurants, Italian cookery courses, vineyards and of course shopping (clothes, antiques, food markets etc.) are available nearby.
Getting There
Conveniently located halfway between Rome and Florence, the villa is easily accessible to a number of international airports including those at Rome (2 hours drive), Pisa (2 1/2 hours), Florence (1 1/2 hours), Bologna (2 1/2 hours) and Perugia (30 mins). Chiusi train station (which is on the main Rome-Florence line) and the A1 motorway are a 20 minute drive.
The climate is temperate and is lovely all year round.
